“Gossamer” (12 observes; forty eight min.) begins off with a triple of no-miss observes, first comes “Take A Walk”, an irresitable dance-along/sing-along. “I’ll Be Alright” is some other sunny upbeat track, and “Carried Away” finishes the trilogy in identical style. Just beautiful. At this point, the message is clear: if the formula worked prior to, why trade it? And indeed, why. After the pensive/slower “Constant Conversation”, we are again to what we like about Passion Pit, nice uptempo tracks like “Mirrored Sea”, and later in the album “Hideaway”. Somewhat except for the whole lot else, monitor 7 “On My Way” jogs my memory like a Beach Boy monitor, with the gorgeous melody and vocals (even if a couple of times dubbed) harmonies. Towards the end of the album, “It’s Not My Fault, I’m Happy” is any other hard charging track. The 5 min. closer “Where We Belong” is a reflective tune, and not truly necessary for me.

But gossamer takes it to new territory. With a heat, private and occasionally heartbreaking really feel to it, with no losing their upbeat danceable nature, the passion pits second full length album is a good compliment to their earlier unlocks.
